gorgeous river views, the wildlife, and the lush, green surroundings.
Whether you plan to spend a week or just a few days at A Cozy River House, there's something fun and relaxing for everyone!

One the questions we get asked the most is, "What are the 'must-do' area activities?"
Our Top 3 activities suggestions:  Hoh Rain Forest, 2nd Beach, and Rialto Beach

HOH RAIN FOREST > Approximate time from A Cozy River House - 30 minutes
The Hoh Rain Forest is part of the Olympic National Park.  The rain forest is one of the finest remaining examples of temperate rain forest in the United States making it one of the park's most popular destinations.  Not only does the rain forest boast enormous trees and lush mosses, but it also has a visitor's center and a trail system with various trails ranging from the paved .1 mile Mini Trail, to the .8 mile Hall of Mosses trail, to the 17.3 mile Hoh River Trail.    A fabulous place to visit rain or shine!

2nd BEACH > Approximate time from A Cozy River House - 25 minutes
Second Beach is just east of LaPush, and is a sandy beach and one of the most popular local beaches. (It's our favorite!)   The .7 mile trail from the parking area to the beach takes you through the forest, down a series of stairs, and over drift wood to the sand below.  This beach has amazing tide pools with starfish, crabs, anemones, and other sea life which are accessed most easily during low-tide. (check tide tables / NOAA tides & currents)   Other things to note about 2nd Beach are there are no restroom facilities or trash receptacles on the beach or trails, so be prepared and bring water.  Also, pets are not allowed on the trail or beach.  If you visit this beach any time of year, you won't be disappointed!  CLICK HERE for more 2nd Beach information

RIALTO BEACH > Approximate time from A Cozy River House - 25 minutes
Rialto Beach is north of LaPush on Mora Road, and is a rocky beach.  One of the reasons for the popularity of this is because of its easy access - the beach is directly adjacent to the parking area.  Sit on one of the hundreds of pieces of driftwood logs and watch the waves crash on the shore.  Rialto Beach has restroom facilities and trash receptacles on the beach or trails.  Pets are not allowed on the beach.  This is a great beach to visit if you don't have a lot of time, or if you're not a fan of walking trails.

Both river houses are just minutes from all of the local sites mentioned in the Twilight book series by author, Stephenie Meyer.  There's so much to say we've dedicated a entire web page to Twilight!

Take a stroll just down the street for convenient fishing area access and boat launch into the Sol Duc River.

Sparkling rivers, both walking distance and within just a few miles of the river houses, are teaming with Rainbow Trout, Sea-run Cutthroat, and fighting Steelhead.   We are minutes away from world class fishing.  Take to the waters of the Sol Duc, Hoh, Calawah, Bogachiel, and Quillayute rivers for fly or drift boat fishing.  You can also enjoy saltwater fishing in the Pacfic Ocean or Straits of Juan de Fuca.

Your fishing opportunities are endless!
